The Royal British Legion Chonburi “Poppy Appeal”
The Royal British Legion Chonburi Thailand Branch will be holding their annual Poppy Appeal event at the Queen VIC Inn on Soi 6.
Starting at 6.00 p.m at the Queen Victoria Inn on Soi 6 Pattaya. It will be a great night with Bangers & Mash with all the trimmings. It’s only 200 Baht per head and that includes your Bangers & Mash plus a FREE raffle ticket and charity auction as well as promotional beer available.
The one and only “BARRY UPTON” will be donating his services to entertain the guests.
Also new Legion Shirts are available from early November from Tropical Bar and the Poppy Sales Team in Grey, Blue and White colours. The polo style shirts are priced as 600 Baht each with all proceeds going to the Poppy Appeal.
Money raised from the Poppy Appeal helps support families of UK ex-servicemen.
Over 800,000 Baht was deservedly received by 23 ex-servicemen in the Chonburi area last year, all donations are gratefully received.
Poppies are on sale from October to November and are worn by those who support ex-servicemen for their duty in serving their country.
The Royal British Legion is the UK’s leading Armed Forces charity and one of its largest membership organisations. Members get together through the network of branches and clubs all over the country and overseas to participate in social, fundraising and welfare activities.
Chonburi Thailand Branch meets every Sunday from 2.00pm at Tropical Bert’s in Pattaya (second road opposite Bangkok Bank).
Membership is open to everyone. If you have an interest in the objectives of the Legion and want to help and give support for those who have served and their families, come and join them. They welcome men and women of all ages, whether they have served in the Armed Forces or not.
